The immature stages of the genus Junea Hemming 1964 are described with images of each of the biological stages. Typical morphological characters of the species Junea doraete doraete (Hewitson 1858) are described, the most outstanding being the cephalic and caudal prolongations. The length of the biological cycle averages 156 days. A table of immature stage development times for the subtribe Pronophilina is presented. The hostplant was found to be Chusquea aff. scandens.
